G.SUNDER RAJU alias CHARUPRABHA SUNDER
“Charu,” as he is popularly known, has donned many hats. He is an award-winning media professional with over four decades of experience. Over this period, he has held leadership positions in several print, visual and digital media organizations, film industry and in the fields of education and research. He is a renowned writer who has written more than 80 novels, hundreds of short stories, and over 3,000 articles in various publications. He was awarded the Puratchi Thalaivi Dr J Jayalalitha Gold Medal for his literary work that had ‘Hindu-Muslim harmony’ as one of its central themes. He received the gold medal from the former Chief Minister Kalaignar Karunanidhi and from the veteran Editor and Writer Saavi, with his work being praised for its contribution towards creativity in journalism and being labelled the best literary work of the decade. His career in the print media has seen him on top positions in Dinamani Kadhir and editorial member of Savi group. He has spanned stints with the Times of India, Dinakaran, Dinamalar, Kumudham, Vikadan, Kalki, Tamiz Arasi and Puthiya Paarvai group.

He was the CCO of a Bengaluru-based leading media house that produces visual and digital media content in 6 languages/states and Admin for decision- content management for their digital Media Network- websites, mobile phones and Media Training.
He has held leadership positions – such as Marketing Head, HRD head, Associated Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, CCO, Vice President – in BHEL, MFL, Godrej & Boyce and Lifeline Hospitals. His long stint in the field of journalism has seen him take on senior positions such as Special Issue Editor and Chief Editor in leading media houses such as Times of India and Sun TV network. He was recently Senior Vice President of a heavy engineering group,in which role he served organizations such as Sandvik Asia, NTPC, Thyssan Group and TNEB. He also has a penchant for social causes and responsibilities.In his professional life of nearly 36 years, he considers his involvement in the creative field as the most eventful.
It was during his tenure as Chief Editor with Dinakaran of the Sun Group that the Kungumam weekly, whichisa Dinakaran publication, achieved the No.1 position in readership with a record figure of 1.4 million copies, as per the National Survey, widely acclaimed as a benchmark achievement in Tamil journalistic history.
He has anchored debates with leading wordsmiths and also interviewed luminaries such as Yagava Munivar, Shivashankar Baba in face-to-face programs in SUN TV.
He is a leading script writer who has worked with top directors. He also handled the “Film India” program for BBC/UTV. Director for the leading company Matrimony .com
The most noteworthy feature of his literary career has been the unbiased and balanced reporting that he has always presented all his life. Oblivious to the various pressures that an editor is subjected to, he has never swerved from the path of principled, responsible and ethical journalism. Retired as Associate Professor, Vice - Principal and Head of the Department of Corporate Secretaryship, The Quaide Milleth College for Men. He did B. Com. and M.Com. from Islamiah College Vaniyambadi, M.Phil. from New College, Chennai and Ph.D. at SIVET College, Chennai, affiliated to University of Madras. He has specialisation in the following subjects: Financial Accounting, Advanced Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Cost Accounting, Management accounting, Income Tax, HRM, Business Management, and Marketing.
On 15-10-1981 he joined as an approved permanent Teaching faculty in Department of Corporate Secretaryship, The Quaide Milleth College for Men, Chennai-600100. He served for 34 months and 7 months and retired as Vice – Principal, Associate Professor and Head of the Department on 31-05-2016.
He served as Chairman, Board of studies in Corporate Secretaryship, Chairman, Board of examiners in Corporate Secretaryship, Academic Council Member, (18.8.1994 to 24.01.1996) University of Madras. He was also appointed as Subject Expert and Inspection Committee Member by the University of Madras for grant of affiliation and appointment of qualified staff for various colleges. He is Recognized by University of Madras to guide the M. Phil. Students.
He was Principal in charge, The Quaide Milleth College for Men from 26-01-2001 to 09-04-2001, He has also served as Coordinator, Shift II (Self financing stream), Vice-Principal from 1st June 2014. He was Coordinator for Career Oriented Course in Web designing, NSS Programme Officer for 3 years (18.8.1993 to 26.11.96) and Member, College Council for 30 years.
He served as Coordinator- Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Convener, NAAC – Co-ordination Committee and a Member, Library Advisory Committee. He attended 12 conferences and presented papers. He also organized UGC sponsored National level Seminar at The Quaide Milleth College for men.
Ms. Nisha Shahul (HOD – Visual Communication)
Ms. Nisha has been into teaching media studies for the past 13 years. She has directed various documentaries on social issues and also directed corporate videos for various educational institutions. An active participant of community radio and a voracious reader. She has published many research papers in national and international journals. She has also presented and published research based articles at many conferences. She is a freelance motivational writer and writes articles in both vernacular and English language. She has also prepared course materials for Visual Communication for various institutions and authored chapters about Teaching, Women Empowerment and Feminism. Her subject of interest is Women studies and media and currently worked on a dissertation titled ‘Newspapers’ Portrayal of Rape in India’.
Neethirajan – (HOD – Convergent Journalism and Mass Communication)
Neethirajan is a veteran journalist with a passion for writing about important social causes. He has written several articles about marginalized people and other disenfranchised sections of society. He has worked for The Hindu (Tamil) and Theekkathir. He was in charge of ‘Vetrikodikattu’, a supplement of The Hindu (Tamil) for students and the youth and has authored the book Malakkuzhikkul madiyalama maanudam (Is It Humane for Life to End in Fecal Pits?) which speaks about the shameful act of manual scavenging. Being an expert translator, Neethirajan coordinated the publication of Gujarat Inapadukolaikal (Gujarat Genocide), which is a translation of social activist Teesta Setalvad’s detailed report on the 2002 Gujarat massacre. He has also edited Ariviyal Arivom (Let’s learn science), a popular The Hindu (Tamil) column. He also has paper presentations at renowned institutions, writing poetry and translating songs of Michel Jackson to his credit.
Dr. Nazeema Sikkendar
Experienced news presenter who is now in the 25th year of news reading. She began her career since 1993 and has received the famous Tamil Nithi Award sponsored by Kamban Kalagam and Krishna Sweets, Thiruvalluvar award and Umaru pulavar award for tamil work. She began her career in newsreading in Doordarshan and currently works as news presenter at Raj TV. She is an active participant in public debates and has hosted many events. She has many paper presentations and journal publications to her credit.
Mr. John Bosco
Johnbosco entry into the world of media started with his film studies in the Film and Television Institute of Tamilnadu, where he specialized in film and video editing. He has worked with CBN News, Vasanth TV, Ramanaidu Film Studio and Miracle Net TV. Also worked with Film celebrities like Suresh Productions Hyderabad (Actor Venkatesh Babu) Director Ilavenil, (Film Uliyin Osai) Director Rohan Krishna, (Film Pattalam) Editor R.T.Annadurai, Editor Mr. Rajesh Khanna to name a few. He was also the Senior Video Editor for the Thiruppumunai Star VijayTV & JAYA TV Show episodes of CBN NEWS. Recently he was associate creative Editor for the Sun TV production ‘Natchathira Cricket Show’ on behalf of Tharak Production which was executed and performed in Chennai. His area of interest include Live Broadcasting and digital interface.he ahs edited more than 3500 Episodes & 250 Programmes.
A highly skilled professional with more than two decades of experience, Yathunandan teaches photography to the students. He is also skilled in photo editing software and has worked with various studios. His area of interest includes nature, wildlife and monument photography. It is his love for photography which made him travel to many places in India like Nagerhole, Mudumalai, Bandhipur, Belur, Halibedu and Badami Caves.
With more than two decades of experience in audio engineering, Mr. Kannadasan extends his knowledge to the student community. His experience in film and television serials shows his expertise in the field. Some of his famous works in films include Permillange (Hindi), Mitr, My Friend(Tamil, English, HIndi and Telugu), Yellamma (telugu), and serials like Anjali, Enpeyar Ranganayagi, Mangalyam, Boom Boom Shakalaka to name a few.
Ms. S. Sahana
Ms. Sahana a specialist in computer graphics and animation. Inspired to teach budding professionals the art of animation, she has taken up teaching by choice at QIAMS. Apart from her area of specialization which includes animation and VFX, Sahana is also a trained dubbing artist. She has worked on various projects and guided many students on computer graphics. She has keen interest in film making and has directed few short films. She has also work on the dissertation titled “semiotic analysis on paintings of Ilayaraja”.
Mr. Abdus Salam
Abdus Salam has several years of experience working for the Times of India and The Hindu, two of India’s leading newspapers. During his time with the Times of India, he edited and designed for a period of over two years the front page of the newspaper’s Chennai edition. This, along with his stints editing and designing the other pages of the Times of India and The Hindu, has given him a sound understanding of the important political and social issues faced by India today.Abdus Salam also holds a 5-year degree in law, a postgraduate diploma in print journalism, and a master’s degree in international politics and relations. Over the course of his long stint in academics, Abdus Salam has written on politics, history, international relations, financial affairs, gender issues, development-related issues, sports, as well as other subjects. His dissertation at the Asian College of Journalism won the award for the best dissertation.
